Canada holds yet another Express Entry draw on July 12

  The most recent round of Express Entry invites was issued by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). On July 12th, the department held a draw for 3,800 candidates having a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 375 in a French language category. Candidates needed a minimum CRS score of 505, which was much better than the previous week’s three category-based selection invites but still lower than the 511 necessary for candidates in the July 4 draw.  July 4-7 Last week, from July 4 to 7, the IRCC held four consecutive drawings.  The invitations given on July 4 were the result of an unexpected all-program draw in which the 700 invited candidates were required to have a minimum CRS score of 511. IRCC has issued a second round of  Express Entry  invitations this week.  In total, 500 candidates were invited. Candidates required a minimum CRS score of 486. This time, it was for candidates who are eligible for category-based selection in science, engineering, technology & mathematics (STEM) occupations. IRCC has also confirmed it will have another round of invitations this week, inviting 1,500 healthcare workers to apply for permanent residence. Express Entry: IRCC invites 700 candidates in surprise all-program draw

  IRCC has invited 700 candidates in the most recent  Express Entry  draw .   It was an all-program draw and candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 511.  This draw comes as a surprise as Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has said it will invite 1,500 healthcare workers via category-based selection tomorrow, July 5. In addition, it is expected IRCC will also invite candidates with work experience in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) occupations in the first-ever category-based selection Express Entry draw for STEM professions. It remains to be seen what the minimum CRS score will be required for healthcare and STEM candidates. Five of Canada’s provinces have nominated candidates through provincial immigration programs this week. Immigration is a shared responsibility between federal and provincial governments. The  Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) exists to allow provincial governments to select economic immigration candidates who are best suited to economically establish within the nominating province. This could be because the candidate has work experience in an occupation that is in demand within the province. Most PNPs have streams that target candidates in occupations such as healthcare, agriculture, and tech, all of which are employment sectors that are experiencing labour shortages. Recently, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada  (IRCC) adopted a similar approach on a federal level and has begun holding category-based selection draws for Express Entry candidates.
